There’s activity in the packaged snack cake industry, so I conducted critical research for today’s National Oreo Day. I seized the moment to try these cakesters, reintroduced in 2022. As the Oreo version of cake, it’s the way to wish Oreos a happy 113th birthday.
Classic Oreos are proud New Yorkers, like the cupcakes I study. Speaking of, I got reacquainted with the grand centenarian standard bearer, the Hostess cupcake. I refreshed my taste buds both to compare it to the cakester and to prepare for the forthcoming Hostess mini cupcakes. This is a new product anticipated to go on sale any day now.
What’s more, there are unconfirmed reports that Wonder Bread is introducing a cream-filled chocolate cupcake. History keeps evolving as companies market new variations of the original 1919 Hostess chocolate cupcake.
