Welcome to the world, The Magnolia Bakery Handbook. This is Magnolia’s debut book under the current ownership, representing the first comprehensive, written look at the approach of owner Steve Abrams and executive chef Bobbie Lloyd.
In lieu of a public launch party, there were TV appearances and social media posts to mark the Oct. 27 book release.
In the final quarter of this dramatic year, I think back to my designation of 2020 as the Year of Optimal Vision and Cupcakes of Gold. Magnolias are usually pink, so I can’t make a color-based connection. Researching the symbolism, I strike gold, so to speak.
Considering that Magnolia is believed to have existed from the beginning of time, it symbolizes longevity and perseverance. Magnolias can also represent nobility, love for nature, feminine sweetness and beauty.
