Kansas-based Smallcakes is a 200-store chain that opened in July in Arlington, Va.
Pop-culture phenomenon Magnolia Bakery is opening at Union Station in the coming months.

The bakery will occupy a high-traffic corner in the country’s second busiest train station.
It will undoubtedly generate the same level of excitement that marked the Boston store opening this spring, to which customers flocked “like it’s the year 2000.”
