Frosted with purpose

Cupcakes deliver unspoken messages. This is the premise of my book, based on my “psychology of cupcakes” article. It’s what I spend my waking hours thinking about.

Sometimes cupcakes make overt statements. They become the medium of a political message.

Today Sprinkles is expressing solidarity with the gun-control protesters.

The cupcakery took a position during last fall’s debate over civil rights, social justice and freedom of expression within professional sports. It spelled out its support for athletes who knelt in protest.

Pastry chefs and other culinary professionals make political statements in various ways, but it’s the use of cupcake as messenger that’s most instructive here.
