National Almond Day says California to me. When Sprinkles offered dark chocolate almond for a few weeks last year as a throwback flavor, I tasted memories.
California is the birthplace of Sprinkles and my home for 20+ years. The button on the plate is my souvenir from the Sprinklesmobile, when it visited D.C. to promote the Georgetown store opening. I have my 10-year anniversary sticker from the April 2015 celebration. It all inspired one of my most successful efforts at impromptu food styling.
The picture is inferior, but I present a second almond cupcake to round out my National Almond Day celebration.
